Whether you're picking up a carving tool for the first time or looking to push your printmaking practice further, this workshop has something for everyone. Come ready to experiment and have fun with it!
In this 4 hour workshop you’ll have plenty of time to carve at least two easy-carve rubber blocks (4x6") and print each one in a different color using water-based inks on a range of textured papers. The result is a richly layered, multi-colored print where every decision — from your carving lines to your color choices to the paper you use — is completely your own.
Want to come in with a plan? Feel free to search for inspiration before class and arrive with a printed image (no larger than 4 × 6) — just keep it simple, since you'll be breaking your design across multiple blocks. Not sure where to start? No worries, we'll have imagery on hand to choose from.
No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get a little inky. You'll leave with finished prints and the know-how to keep printing at home.
