People and Pet Portraits with Colored Pencils

$70.00

Intimidated by drawing faces? We get it. Eyes are tricky, proportions feel impossible, and somehow noses never look quite right.

Fine artist Becca Schillinger is here to change all that with her approachable method for creating stunning colored pencil portraits of your pet or favorite person. NO previous art experience required—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn something new!

Becca's step-by-step approach demystifies portrait drawing. Becca will show you photo transfer techniques, shading methods that add real depth, and how to tackle challenging features with confidence. She'll also guide you through adding vibrant colors that bring your portraits to life.

What to Bring:A printed photo of your person or pet as your reference. Images must be clearly in focus, and have a good amount of contrast between light and dark areas. Bringing in multiple images and options is highly recommended. Portraits will range in size based on your reference photo, but please make sure the image is not bigger than your 9x11in paper.

Join us on Thursday, July 31st from 6:30 - 9:30PM at THE EXCHANGE 617 Marin Street in Old Town Vallejo.

As always space is limited and we tend to sell out so sign up early before all seats are gone.

Please understand that buying a ticket to an event or workshop is no different than buying a concert, theater, or movie ticket and we are unable to offer refunds. You are of course always welcome to gift your seat to a friend if you cannot make it!

Instructor Bio: Becca Schillinger earned her BFA in drawing and painting from CCAC in San Francisco, and was trained by drag queens in NYC on how to paint a fashion-week worthy face. Knitting is her zen craft practice!
