This workshop is all about celebrating imperfection and reducing textile waste while giving your wardrobe a fresh, personalized look. We’ll show you various techniques for repair using simple embroidery stitches, basic sashiko, and creative patching methods. The first half of class we’ll learn these techniques and work on a sampler- a piece of fabric used to learn, practice, and showcase different stitches. Then we move on to mending the pieces you bring to class! We’ll provide all the supplies, fabric swatches, various threads, etc. + everyone leaves with a sewing kit to keep your mending at home. You bring 1-2 garments that need some love! *Note, this type of mending works best on denim and cottons, not suitable knits.
Perfect for anyone wanting to be more sustainable, save money, and add some handmade charm to their clothes. No sewing experience necessary!
