In this playful, low-pressure workshop, you’ll learn the basics of stop motion animation, the classic movie magic where you build a little scene, give your characters a story, and bring it all to life by moving things ever so slightly between photos. Then watch it play back as an actual film.
We’ll supply everything: phone stands to keep your shots steady, plus a big pile of props, and set-building goodies to create your world. You bring your phone and your imagination (or anything special you’d like to work with). No art skills, film experience, or patience of a saint required.
You’ll leave with a finished short film saved right to your phone, ready to show off to anyone who’ll watch.
Before you come: Please download the free Stop Motion Studio app by Cateater before class. It’s available on both iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Shooting inside the app means your film builds itself as you go, with no editing required! The free version may add a small watermark, which is totally fine for our purposes.
Join us on November 15th from 12PM - 2:30PM at THE EXCHANGE 617 Marin Street in Old Town Vallejo.
As always space is limited and we tend to sell out so sign up early before all seats are gone. Sign up by November 8th and snag the $40 early-bird rate - future you will thank present you.
Please understand that buying a ticket to an event or workshop is no different than buying a concert, theater, or movie ticket and we are unable to offer refunds. You are of course always welcome to gift your seat to a friend if you cannot make it!
